Engineering

Made in Germany” is regarded as a seal of quality all over the world – German engineering is well respected. Career prospects are good: in Germany there are hardly any unemployed engineers.More than 3,600 engineering degree courses are offered in Germany, including around 1,600 Master's courses.

Medicine and Health sciences

Course, University selection

German language

Of course, German is the official language of Germany. It is also spoken, in varying national and regional dialects, by citizens in neighboring central European countries like Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, South Tyrol and Liechtenstein.

Letter of Recommendation

LOR stands for letter of recommendation, which is actually a recommendation by your teacher or principle of your school, college, university or senior in the company, that he/she recommends you to study in Germany.

Possible things to be included in LOR:
  • How did the student go about during their studies?
  • How did the student participate in teamwork, or the learning environment?
  • What difference did the student bring?
  • How did they think about the subject in matter?
  • How did the student react to setbacks and criticisms?
  • How did the student think about bringing multiple concepts together?
  • How has the student matured and excelled over time?
  • Did the student challenge themselves, and in what ways or in what kind of circumstances?
  • How did the student’s passion show towards specific subjects or activities?
  • If there was an achievement, how did it happen and how has it affected education?
  • What was the student’s level of creativity during class and assignments?

Statement of Purpose

Generally speaking, a Statement of Purpose (SOP) is an application document requested by most German universities in which you demonstrate your motivation to get into the given study program/ scholarship/visa/etc. and explain why you are the best fit/candidate.

A typical statement of Purpose follows a generic format in which the student should include five important information which are as follows

  • Academic qualification
  • Professional experience
  • Reason for choosing the course
  • Keeping a clear eye on your goals
  • Reason for choosing the specific university

APS (Akademische PrĂĽfstelle)

The APS India issues the APS certificate, which confirms that your documents are genuine and valid and that, consequently, you are eligible to study in Germany.

Depending on whether you want to do your Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Germany, the documents required for getting the APS certificate vary. Here is the list of documents –

  • Complete application form (printed and signed) with passport size photo
  • Copy of the verification fee receipt
  • Copy of Aadhaar card with linked mobile number
  • Copy of the first and last pages of your passport
  • Copy of 12th class certificate and transcript of records
  • Copy of 12th class admit card (upon availability)
  • Copy of the Bachelor's certificate and transcript of records
  • Copy of language certificate
Processing fee for the APS equals â‚ą18,000

Student Visa

A student visa for Germany is a type of visa which you can get if you have applied to a study program at a German university and received a letter of admission (also known as a letter of acceptance) from that program.

Documents required for visa-

  • Valid passport
  • Certificate issued by the APS
  • Proof of health insurance
  • Proof of sufficient funds (Blocked account)
  • Proof of admittance to the study course
  • Certificates of all academic qualifications you have previously obtained
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Where not confirmed by the German University in the admission notification: Proof of the language skills in the language of instruction for the study course or the preparatory course
Visa fee = 75 €

Blocked account

Blocked Account allows you to prove sufficient financial resources during your stay in Germany. The current blocked amount established by the German government is €934 per month of one’s stay in Germany

  • Required blocked amount: €934 * 12 months = €11208
  • One time set-up fee: €49
  • Monthly fee: €5 * 12 = €60
  • Buffer: €100
  • Total: €11417 = around â‚ą10 lakhs (varies according to the exchange rates)
